How do I print from a laptop or mobile device?

Mobility Print is a new feature that allows you to print from your personal devices, including computers, tablets, and phones connected to the RUWireless Secure network. To print on devices other than MacOS and iOS devices, you must install the Mobility Print drivers.

 

Android | ChromeOS | iOS | MacOS | Windows

 

Android

Supported version: Android 4.4 and later

 

The first step is to install the Mobility Print software published by PaperCut from the Google Play Store.

 

1) Run the Mobility Print software to set up the software.  Follow the instructions provided in the Mobility Print app.

 

 

2) In Settings, allow the use of Mobility Print.

 

 

3) Lastly, log in using your NetID credentials.

 

 

You are now finished setting up Mobility Print for Android. You may now print to OIT printers using the device's Print or Share functionality when connected to the RUWireless Secure network.

ChromeOS

Supported versions: Chrome OS with Chrome version 43 and later

 

1) Go to the Chrome Store and search for Mobility Print.

 

 

2) Select the Mobility Print Extension.

 

 

3) Launch the Mobility Print app.

 

 

4) You will see this screen:

 

 

5) To print, select the Print menu option from within Chrome.

 

 

6) Select the Change... button under Destination in the Print dialog.

 

 

7) Select the appropriate Mobility printer.

 

 

8) The first time you print, log in with your NetID credentials.

 

 

You are now finished setting up Mobility Print for ChromeOS. You may now print to OIT printers using the device's Print functionality when connected to the RUWireless Secure network.

iOS

Supported versions: iOS 9.2 and later

 

1) Select the file you wish to print and tap the Share button at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

 

 

2) Select the Print option.

 

 

3) Choose Select Printer from the Print Options.

 

 

4)  Select the appropriate Mobility printer.

 

 

5)  Press Print to send the print job.

 

 

6)  The first time printing, log in with your NetID credentials.

 

 

You are now finished setting up Mobility Print for iOS. You may now print to OIT printers using the device's Print functionality when connected to the RUWireless Secure network.

MacOS

Supported versions: macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) and later

 

Use Airprint to print from MacOS.  More details can be found here.

 

1) Go to System Preferences and selest Printers & Scanners. Click the + button to add Mobility Print printer.

 

 

2) Select the Mobility Print printer you wish to add. For example, if printing on the New Brunswick campus, you would select the nb_bw or nb_color printer from the list.

 

 

3) Once added, the printer will now show up in your list of installed printers.

 

 

4) When you go to print, be sure the destination is set to the correct printer.

 

 

5)  Once the print job is sent, you will need to log in with your NetID credentials.

 

 

You have now finished setting up Mobility Print for MacOS.  You may now print to OIT printers using the device's Print functionality when connected to the RUWireless Secure network.

Windows

Supported versions: Microsoft Windows 7 and later

 

The first step is to install the Mobility Print software published by PaperCut. That driver can be obtained from here.

 

Please note: if you want to add additional printer queues, you will need to run the installer for each printer you wish to add.

 

1) Select the appropriate language.

 

 

2)  Accept the End User License Agreement.

 

 

3)  Select the appropriate print queue depend on the campus to which you wish to print.

 

 

4) Log in with your NetID credentials.

 

 

5)  You are now finished setting up Mobility Print for Windows.

 

 

You may now print to OIT printers from Windows using the device's Print functionality when connected to the RUWireless Secure network.
