Google Classroom is available to anyone with a ScarletMail account. It is a free suite of productivity tools including Gmail, Drive and Docs.
Classroom is designed to help teachers create and collect assignments paperless, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google Document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organized.
Students can keep track of what's due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and grades right in Classroom
Google Classroom can be used in the following ways:
- Assign and collect homework assignments
- Grade Homework assignments
- Store all class Materials in Google Drive so they can easily be shared with the class
Students and participants in a class do not need to do anything to use this service. To use Google Classroom log into your ScarletMail Account and go to http://classroom.google.com.
If you are a Faculty or Staff member at the University and require Teacher Access to Google Classroom there are two things you need to do:
- Log into your ScarletMail Account and go to http://classroom.google.com. Once there click on Teacher under the text Get Started Using Google Classroom.
- Next go to this form and fill it out.
Once both of these steps have been done your request will be reviewed and processed within 1 to 2 business days.
This service is available to all Faculty,Staff and Students at the University. All that is required to access Google Classroom is a ScarletMail Account. To activate a ScarletMail Account please go to http://netid.rutgers.edu and click on Services Activation.
