With the Mail Program open, select Mail and Preferences from the Apple Menu

Click on the "+" symbol to create a new account

Enter the following information:

• Full Name: Enter your full name
• Email Address: Enter the email address in the form of netid@domain.rutgers.edu
• Password: Enter the NetID password

Click Continue

If the error "The Identity of "your domain" cannot be verified click Connect.

Make sure the following settings are selected:

• Account Type: Choose IMAP
• Description: Anything can be entered here
• Incoming Mail Server: Enter rumail.rutgers.edu
• User Name: Enter the email address in the form of netid@domain.rutgers.edu
• Password: Enter the NetID Password

Click Continue

For Outgoing Mail Server make sure the following settings are selected:

• Outgoing Mail Server: Enter rumail.rutgers.edu
• Use only this server: This can be optionally checked or unchecked
• Use Authentication: Should be checked
• Username: Should be the email address in the form of netid@domain.rutgers.edu
• Password: Enter the NetID Password

Click Continue

An Account Summary Screen will be displayed. Check over the settings to make sure they are correct then check off Take account online then click Create.
